The concern about copying by Chinese manufacturers exists. There are several solutions designed to make it difficult, for example first manufacturing initial series in Israel – a bit more expensive but sometimes worthwhile. Patent and design registration in China – although China isn’t the USA and Europe, but today the most patent applications are submitted in China because that’s where they manufacture in many cases. In our team, there are consulting patent attorneys who during development submit a patent registration application. Manufacturing in China with several factories, for example the software and microcontroller are received from one supplier, the electronic circuit from another supplier, the plastic mold and plastic injections from another manufacturer, assembly can be done with a manufacturer who only deals with assembly in China or in Israel. Sometimes the effort is worthwhile, but in most cases, due to lower cost with one supplier, they manufacture with one supplier and submit a patent application in China. Once planning was done on paper, but today we perform computerized 3D planning in a way that illustrates to the client the model that will be built at a later stage. At the planning stage, we also perform basic development of the product’s brain, for example application, electronics, electricity, to perform feasibility testing.
Model construction and manufacturing – After the client’s approval of the planning, our team manufactures and builds the model using a 3D printer if it’s plastic or using other manufacturing means, for example machining such as engraving or CNC. In addition to external hardware, if there’s a brain in the invention, namely electronics, detectors, etc., we manufacture printed circuits and electronic components in the electronics laboratory. Additionally, we integrate in many cases an application for product operation.
Product design – Already in early stages, starting from model planning, we address product design, but in many cases, final product design is performed after model testing. Sometimes during model testing, they find there’s a need to reduce or enlarge, round or square. Industrial design of the product can be finally performed when integrating our development and design people after testing the basic model.
Prototype planning – After product design, it’s possible to move to prototype planning stage, namely prototype is first in series. It will be one-to-one like in the serial product. In many cases, at this stage, you actually need to start dealing also with tools for serial production. For example, if you want to manufacture certain plastic, you need to plan a plastic injection mold, and only after there’s a mold can you inject the first prototype from the desired material. When planning a prototype, production processes must already be addressed after product design, to save production costs. For example, using reinforcements in plastic, namely performing ribbing to save plastic thickness and material in mass production, and also to shorten production time for each unit.
Prototype construction is the final stage. If the final prototype which is first in production series, it’s already possible to move to the industrial mass production stage.

Our team treats manufacturing in Israel or China. There are advantages compared to disadvantages in manufacturing in Israel compared to China and vice versa. In many cases, entrepreneurs want to save time and move as quickly as possible from development stage to production stage. In Israel, usually time schedules are shorter compared to China. But it’s important to remember that in China, manufacturing cost is much cheaper compared to manufacturing in Israel, and therefore in most cases with products intensive in manual labor, it’s more worthwhile to manufacture in China. But we have clients who prefer to pay more in Israel also for blue-and-white manufacturing reasons, but mainly to preserve technology, especially for example in security and medical products and fields with patents and they want to avoid transferring information to a Chinese manufacturer.
